Issue #16

Hello, Daniela here 👋

I built CtrlAlt.CC to make it easier for you to find helpful tools for startup tasks & now I’m bringing a couple cool products to your inbox, every so often.

Let’s have a look at what’s going on this week 👀

Product of the week #16

I wanted to try this product for a while now – actually ever since its co-founder (some of you will know him from his witty memes & insane growth on twitter @dagorenouf) joined CtrlAltCC as one of the site’s first users 🥰 more than a year ago.

Why postpone it for so long then? I somehow felt like I needed a project to be doing well enough to warrant using this cool product 🤔 But now that my personal blog is out of its infancy, the time has finally come 👀

Meet Logology, a tool that brings brand design to a new era 🎨

Logology makes getting a high quality logo super quick, fun, easy & affordable! I mean just take my money already..

You start your journey through the web app, with a few interesting multiple choice questions (like “if your startup was a superhero, who would it be” – ahem Batman obvs) and at the end of this 5 mins quiz, you are presented with a variety of logo choices, carefully predesigned by @LucieBaratte & automatically tailored to you, based on your startup’s personality & voice.

You can then save the ones that you like most & try out multiple colours and fonts customisations, again carefully selected to match your startup. Then easily test out how they will look on multiple layouts & devices – with 1 single click (and ofc then purchase the one you want to use)

As a designer in my “day job”, I am usually very picky when it comes to.. designs 😅 But besides the super lovely, carefully crafted app experience, I was really impressed with the high quality of the logo options that I got, from such a quick & fun quiz! And absolutely loved seeing the reasoning behind every icon / colour / font choice – all of this makes you feel like each one of the options has been designed specifically for you, after a detailed chat with your designer. It definitely felt like the future!

So if you are looking for a logo for your new startup / side project / that domain that’s been gathering dust – Logology is the spot for you!

And this week’s maker story comes from Philip, an innovative maker who plans to transform the productivity space ⏳

Philip’s product: prise.com

“Hey, my name is Philip Brown, and I’m the founder of Prise. Prise is a smart task management app that uses Machine Learning to intuitively understand the tasks on your to-do list.

After many years of working as an employee and freelancer in companies of all sizes and industries, I’ve seen what works and what doesn’t with regards to managing projects and tasks. There’s potentially a huge difference if you get these details right, not just in terms of output, but also your health and wellbeing. Burnout is a major problem to knowledge workers, and the very nature of how we work is rapidly changing.

I believe software should be a bicycle for the mind, yet we’ve all just accepted that productivity software requires a lot of effort on the part of the user. Prise is the only task management app that amplifies your effort and actively prevents you from feeling overwhelmed.

Prise understands the intricate nuances of the tasks on your to-do list. This means it can offer you smart recommendations on what to do next, as well as allow you to filter your tasks by characteristics such as creativity, required energy, or importance and urgency. It does this using its ability to automatically categorise your tasks across 30+ different characteristics. Prise is able to do all of this without any extra effort from you. I think of Prise as your own smart productivity assistant, always ready to help you get stuff done.

Whilst I’ve been working on the technology behind Prise for a couple of years now, it’s still early days in terms of building the product. There’s a lot of really powerful things I want to build that I think will completely change the way people think about how they manage their work. It’s been invaluable speaking to the early users of Prise to understand their problems and how Prise’s technology can help them work more effectively.

I’m excited to continue on the indie hacker journey and build Prise into a product that really makes a difference to the productivity of people all over the world.”
